Himachal to e-monitor court cases

The Government of Himachal Pradesh is developing web-based software for routine monitoring of all court cases with respect to different departments.

The Court Case Monitoring software will enable departmental heads to find the status of all ongoing cases as on date and help departments eliminate delays by filing replies on time. The Departmental Head will have access to this software and will be hosted centrally at Department of IT, Himachal Pradesh web server located in Shimla.

It will help in creating database of cases for different departments. The software will also give insight with respect to nature of cases, compliance of court orders, long pending cases, percentage of cases in favour of department or against it, strategy to be adopted to reduce frequency of cases, and others.

The software also provides month-wise, year-wise and district-wise break-up of cases.

All departments will have to record cases by giving details like: department name, district, name of the court, title of the case, case number and year, nature of the case ( like CWP, OA, SLP, CS, and RSA), claim in brief (by Petitioner/Applicant/Plaintiff/ Claimant), Acts (including amendments), name of the advocate(s), case listed on (in court), case received on (by department), interim order/stay order, last date for filing the reply, internal movement of the case, and others.

The government has recently floated a Request for Proposal (RFP) for finalising software vendor for monitoring of court cases.
